JOYNEXT presents innovative OTA solutions at SDV Europe

Dresden, Germany. JOYNEXT, an automotive electronics specialist and leading provider of over-the-air (OTA) update technologies for vehicles, is proud to announce its participation in this year's Software-Defined Vehicle Europe 2023, which will take place in Berlin, Germany, from 26 to 28 November 2023. The company will be showcasing its latest innovations and developments in vehicle software updates and security at the SDV Europe conference.

Over-the-air (OTA) updates allow the software in vehicles to be updated directly by the end customer after purchase. This enables not only the elimination of bugs and security vulnerabilities, but also functional adaptations throughout the life of the vehicle. JOYNEXT is not only an experienced provider of OTA solutions in various automotive projects, but also an active member of the eSync Alliance, which promotes the standardisation of OTA.

At SDV Europe, Dr. Daniel Wedekind, Senior Manager Platform Base at JOYNEXT, will present the company's "OTA Compliance Platform". This innovative platform creates a holistic development environment that enables both the technical compliance of an OTA solution with the eSync OTA standard and the procedural integration into an ASPICE compliant development environment. The presentation "A Holistic Compliance Model to Ensure Interoperability when Building a Standardised OTA Data Pipeline" will take place on 27 November.

JOYNEXT has established the Compliance Working Group (CWG) within the eSync Alliance, chaired by Uwe de Nardi. "A key success factor for the establishment of the eSync standard is the demonstrably reduced effort for OEMs to integrate the OTA system. Only an end-to-end process from standardisation and implementation to verification and certification of all ESYNC OTA system components can meet this requirement," said Uwe de Nardi, Chairman of the eSync Alliance's Compliance Working Group. The group is driving the development of a compliance tool to ensure the conformance of system components to the standard. This is particularly important as safety-critical functions such as OTA require not only technical compliance, but also process compliance as required by bodies such as UNECE WP.29.

The OTA Compliance Platform developed by JOYNEXT addresses these challenges through integration at requirement and test level and can be seamlessly integrated into common development environments such as CI/CD pipelines, using Robot Framework based test automation.

JOYNEXT invites all interested parties including OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers as well as server and client technical experts to visit the JOYNEXT booth to learn more about the OTA Compliance Platform and its implementation.
