Electronics and software engineering specialist with international experience will drive development for the automotive future at JOYNEXT
DRESDEN, October 22, 2021 —— John Marcus joins JOYNEXT as Corporate Chief Technology and Product Officer (CTPO) on 1 October 2021. His chief responsibilities are strategy, engineering and product development.

John Marcus most recently served as VP Engineering at Luxoft. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in electronics and software engineering, as well as a post-graduate degree in software development for the automotive industry (developing embedded software). He also completed an Executive Leadership Program at Yale School of Management in the USA and earned an Executive MBA from ESMT Berlin.
From software developer to VP Engineering
While still a student in his home country of Egypt, John Marcus founded his first software business, before beginning the next phase of his career as part of Valeo’s research and development team in 2012. He held a range of positions at Valeo, rising from software developer to team and project manager for top column modules, steering, parking sensors and autonomous driving systems.
In 2018, John Marcus joined Luxoft, where he started out as Head of Software Engineering, before going on to head up a team of 2,000 engineers in various product lines as Global VP Engineering, with additional responsibility for the America region among others.

At JOYNEXT, John Marcus will succeed Manuela-Bianca Steinhuebel, currently Corporate CTO and VP R&D, who is leaving the company by mutual and amicable agreement.
