JOYNEXT at the Automotive Electronics Congress: Actively shaping the path to the SDV
Dresden. JOYNEXT will be presenting intelligent vehicle solutions at the Automotive Electronics Congress from June 24 to 25, 2025 in Ludwigsburg that actively shape the transition to software-defined mobility.
The Automotive Electronics Congress is taking place for the 29th time this year and offers industry experts, researchers and innovators a platform to discuss the latest advances in automotive electronics. With this year's theme "Navigating through Global Complexity: Architecture and Platform Solution for scaling SDVs", the central networking event underlines the increasing importance of the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV).
In line with the theme of this year's Automotive Electronics Congress, JOYNEXT will also be presenting its solutions for SDV. The automotive electronics specialist will be exhibiting a test vehicle at the congress to demonstrate its solutions in a practical way.
Powerful central processing unit for software-defined mobility
The "nCCU2" from JOYNEXT is a powerful central processing unit that enables the adaptive control of different vehicle domains through flexible computing power distribution. "In this way, traditionally separate electronic vehicle systems, such as driver assistance functions, infotainment and smart cockpit functions, are effectively coordinated centrally via a single control unit. This saves space and weight and increases the reliability of the vehicle systems," explains Noby Mathew, Director Products & Strategy at JOYNEXT GmbH.
As a central system, the "nCCU2" supports both AI-supported cockpit applications and semi-automated driving functions - such as automated valet parking (AVP) or navigation on autopilot (NOA). In addition to internal data processing and coordination, it provides a central platform for the vehicle to communicate with its environment. With the ability to integrate cloud services or OTA updates (Over The Air: OTA), JOYNEXT's "nCCU2" enables the next step towards software-centric and update-capable mobility.
Intelligent sensors and connectivity for greater safety and convenience
JOYNEXT will also be presenting its future-proof sensor solutions for occupant safety and vehicle access at the congress. The "nSensor" uses UWB (ultra-wideband) and enables the reliable monitoring of vital signals such as breathing and heartbeat of vehicle occupants. This makes it possible, for example, to draw attention to children left behind in the vehicle. The solution can also be geared towards detecting foot movements, for example to enable the automatic opening of the tailgate.
Combined with the modular solution for digital vehicle keys "nAccess", there are interesting possibilities for software-based vehicle security. The system combines UWB, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy: BLE) and NFC (Near Field Communication: NFC) and supports international standards such as those of the CCC (Car Connectivity Consortium: CCC) and the ICCE (Intelligent Car Connectivity Industry Ecosystem Alliance: ICCE). This makes the system compatible with various markets and requirements.
JOYNEXT also has attractive solutions in its product portfolio for general vehicle communication with its surroundings (Vehicle-to-Everything: V2X). At the congress, JOYNEXT will be providing information in particular about its Flat Antenna, which is characterized by the remarkable integration of ten high-frequency interfaces, among other things. "The Flat Antenna has been specially developed for demanding environmental conditions and thus ensures reliable V2X communication even under challenging conditions, for example in heavy rain, electromagnetic interference or extreme heat," emphasizes Noby Mathew.
Automotive Electronics Congress 2025: A look at today's mobility solutions for tomorrow
The Automotive Electronics Congress provides valuable insights into current trends and challenges in the automotive industry. The renowned specialist conference with international reach networks leading players from industry and science and last year brought together over 600 experts from all over the world.
JOYNEXT is looking forward to the constructive exchange: "After the exciting insights and discussions last year, we are also looking forward to this excellent opportunity this year to talk to partners, customers and experts about current developments in the automotive industry," says Noby Mathew.
