JOYNEXT makes redesign of the nature playground at the Zschonergrundbad possible

The nature play garden at the Zschonergrundbad is becoming a reality thanks to the willingness of JOYNEXT and other numerous supporters to donate. The international car electronics specialist mobilised around 2,000 euros to support the crowdfunding project. A total of more than 4,000 euros was raised via the 99Funken platform. The donations will finance the costs for the wood designer's work as well as the numerous Robina trunks for the new nature play garden. The costs for the garden tools are also included in the sponsorship.

The initiator of the project is the association NaturKulturBad Zschonergrund e. V. It has been active on site since 1996. Since then, it has been working with passion and commitment to develop the 3.5-hectare bathing area with the listed three-sided farm and the bathing buildings into an idyllic meeting place for people and nature. The idea of redesigning historically different areas and objects in an open-air bath also for active environmental education is unique in Dresden. The wooden play elements are specially built on site for the design idea. In addition, the use of the variable seedbed is left to children.

“Our company premises are a stone's throw away from the Zschonergrund. For many of our employees, it is on their daily way to work. But we also have a close connection to the Zschonergrundbad as a place for active recreation. That's why it was a matter of the heart for us to support the redesign of the nature playground with our best efforts”, says Stavros Mitrakis, CEO of JOYNEXT GmbH.

Already at Easter, the initiators invited friends and supporters to a special opening event. Guests were able to use the newly planted seed field for the first time with a large Easter fire, music, a guided herb tour and an Easter lamb show. For children, there were other exciting hands-on activities in the new herb house to discover nature through play.

After the Easter holidays, the wood designer started dismantling and reworking the existing wooden elements. Subsequently, the new dexterity course with integrated marble run and the wooden enclosure for the seed experimentation field will be erected. From the beginning of May 2023, the first school classes were able to use the completed nature play garden as part of their herb project days. From mid-May 2023, the play garden was then also available to swimming pool visitors. The official inauguration of the nature play garden took place during the annual Herb Day on 18 June 2023.
