Check handed over at 1st Merbitz Saint Urban festival

1,000 Euro from Preh Car Connect

for a sandstone sculpture of Saint Urban

Dresden. – Preh Car Connect (PCC) is not just an important employer in Dresden. The automotive supplier based in Dresden’s Merbitz district also sees itself as a good neighbor. As part of the 1st Merbitz Saint Urban festival on the Merbitzer Bauernberge vineyards, PCC Managing Director Stavros Mitrakis, together with Dresden’s Lord Mayor Dirk Hilbert, Mayor Maximilian Vörtler, and the winemaker Jürgen Merbitz, unveiled a new sculpture in honor of Saint Urban. In addition, Mitrakis brought along a check for 1,000 Euros to finance the sculpture.

“As a company, we feel firmly attached to Dresden and especially to the district of Merbitz,” said Stavros Mitrakis after the sculpture’s unveiling. “As a neighbor and employer to many people in the region, it is our job to promote culture and create an attractive environment where people very much enjoy living.”

The sandstone sculpture initiated by the Merbitzer winegrowers is a symbolical representation of St. Urban, who, among other things, is the patron saint of winegrowers. The project draws attention to the long tradition of viticulture in Merbitz and the surrounding area, as well as to the high-quality products produced here.
